A new five-member girl group named “f(x)” will make their debut on Sept. 2 to compete with “Wonder Girls” and “Girls Generation.” SM Entertainment said on Tuesday that it plans to showcase f(x) at Fashion Center in Samseong-down, southern Seoul, with the attendance of Girls Generation and SHINee.

OMG. Finally, I will be getting to see Super Junior, SNSD and a lot more pop stars.

Kimchisoju has jus received a notice that I got a ticket for the 2009 Asia Song Festival which will be held on September 19 at the Seould World Cup Stadium.

Super Junior's new album will come out in March 2009.

After three of the five members of the Korean pop band Dong Bang Shin Gi, a k a TVXQ, took legal action against the group’s management agency, S.M. Entertainment, on July 31, claiming an unfair contract, officials began examining how other top groups are being managed.

The popularity of Girls’ Generation has skyrocketed among Russian young people. A growing number of young Russians has become interested in Korean pop culture these days. More than 100 fan cafes dedicated to Korean pop culture have opened on the Russian networking site “V Kontakte” as of July 31. Their membership rosters range from as little as hundreds to as many as thousands of members, as more and more Russians are becoming the fans of Lee Hyo-ri, Rain, Wonder Girls, Girls’ Generation, 2NE1, 2PM, 2AM and SHINee.

Actor Lee Jun-ki and actress Song Hye-gyo have been chosen as foreigners’ favorite Korean stars. Roughly 3,000 viewers from 60 countries, including the United States, the Philippines, Thailand, and Singapore, took part in a survey conducted by the entertainment program “Showbiz Extra” of Arirang TV to vote for their favorite Korean stars and Lee and Song finished first in the movie star category.
