Seo In-yeong, a member of the girl group Jewelry, was a guest on KBS2’s Roundtable Plus-Season 2, which aired Tuesday. The cast and MCs broke into laughter over her story of an embarrassing moment caused by her sexy image.
She said, “I had an event once at a Buddhist temple. Jewelry’s hit number ‘Baby One More Time’ and my solo hit ‘I Want You’ both feature sexy lyrics and dances, but the Buddhist priests were abashed when they saw them and did not respond to our singing.”
To get their attention, Seo decided to perform her dance moves in an over-the-top fashion, but the result was a complete failure. Jewelry barely managed to finish their performance to the reticent response of the priests. Seo said, “We couldn’t just stop dancing because of the lukewarm reaction. It was my first time feeling embarrassed while doing a sexy dance.”
She also talked about the perception that she is tough and outspoken. She said, “It’s in the family. I take after my parents. My dad says this kind of personality is helpful to entertainers. But he scolds me if I ever get arrogant, saying, ‘Who do you think you are, Lee Hyori? Don’t go overboard!'”
Other guests on Roundtable Plus were singer Baek Ji-yeong and actress Nam Sang-mi. Baek talked about how boy band 2PM’s Ok Taek-yeon was involved in her album while Nam shared the story of her first love. (KBS, KBSi, TV Report)
