SBS has severely tainted and maligned the name and career of one of its prized stars when it irresponsibly exposed the blurred pictures of an actor, that turned out to be “Family Outing” star Lee Chun Hee.
It was ironic that Lee Chun Hee got the beating from SBS, which produces “Family Outing”. Chun Hee just recently taped his last episode of Family Outing as part of his career move. But one wonders if the decision for his early exit came from SBS after news reports of his supposed involvement in drugs surfaced.
The drug scandal started with the arrest of actor and model Joo Ji-hoon, actress Yun Seol-hee and actor Ye Hak-young last April for smuggling ecstacy and other drugs from Japan to Korea.
The Korean police have since expanded the investigation to see if other Korean stars were involved in drugs.
While the police have not publicly named Lee Chun Hee as a main suspect, SBS jumped the gun and revealed the actor’s identity.
SBS is now taking a major flak for what netizens call as “irresponsible” revelation of Chun Hee’s identity.
Without doubt, Lee Chun Hee’s blossoming career as an actor and CF endorser will be severely affected by the drug scandal. Chun Hee is fast becoming a celebrity endorser and the drug scandal will definitely turn off advertising companies to hire him for product endorsement.
